Porto. “Once Bitten, Twice Shy” by Joseph LeDoux, The Amygdaloids, and the album “Anxious” (2015), is the official song of the 2nd World Congress on Facial Expression of Emotion (2ndWCFEE 2018), to be held in Porto (Portugal), on October 11-13, 2018. “It’s a love song about Pavlovian conditioning,” said Prof. Joseph LeDoux to Prof. Freitas-Magalhães.

So We Are & The Rock Valley Retinue at HiFi

In April So We Are and the Rock Valley Retinue took over a room, 19th century schoolhouse in upstate New York and turned it into a recording studio. This live-performance video is from their record release for their album, “Things We’ve Learned”. Joseph LeDoux and Colin Dempsey are So We Are. Rock Valley Retinue band members include Don Piper, Matthew Horn, Jeremy Chatzky, Cliff Westfall, Julia Greenberg.

Preview “Things We’ve Learned” by So We Are & the Rock Valley Retinue 

Last summer, So We Are took over a 19th Century one-room schoolhouse in the Catskills (Rock Valley NY) and turned it into a recording studio. Colin Dempsey and Joseph LeDoux were joined by some friends upstate, including Matthew HornCliff Westfall Jeremy Chatzky Julia Greenberg and Don Piper (who played and produced). The result was “Things We’ve Learned” by So We Are & The Rock Valley Retinue. We’ll be doing a record release show at HiFi Bar on Monday Nov 21 at 730p. The record is available from CD Baby.

So we are is joining NYU inauguration celebration event

So We Are will perform songs about mind and brain in The Mind – one of NYU Inauguration Celebration Week events.  LeDoux will moderate the event and Colin Dempsey will be speaking in the even too.

Music on the Mind: Rocking Out for CNS 2016

(March 30, 2016) Rocking Out for CNS 2016 :Three bands made up of CNS members – The Amygdaloids, Pavlov’s Dogz, and The Shrinks – are playing this Sunday, on the occasion of the CNS annual meeting in New York.

Anxious (the CD) by The Amygdaloids – Upcoming Album Release on July 14 !

On July 14, Anxious the book and Anxious the CD will launch. The book offers a new view of fear, anxiety and other emotions, and how problems with fear anxiety can be more effectively treated. The CD explores some of the same psychological themes of the book, but through music.  The CD was recorded at Cowboy Technical Services Recording Rig (Eric Ambel, producer, Mario Viele , engineer).
